About Me
Hello! I’m Frank Peña, a dedicated associate clinical social worker, who is a passionate LGBTQ+ educator based in Orange County, California. With over a decade of experience working with LGBTQ+ youth and young adults, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to fostering inclusivity and understanding in mental health.
As a queer, transgender person of color, I approach my work through a lens of cultural competence and advocacy. My practice is rooted in Acceptance + Advocacy, focusing on providing not just tolerance, but genuine support and celebration of diverse identities and experiences. I utilize a sex and body positive framework and a client-centered approach to create a therapeutic environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
In addition to my clinical practice, I am passionate about educating others. I offer training sessions for mental health providers on topics such as SOGIE (sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression), intersectionality, and best practices for working with transgender and gender expansive clients. My goal is to equip professionals with the knowledge and tools they need to provide effective and compassionate care.
I am a proud member of both the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and Health at Every Size (HAES). These affiliations reflect my commitment to advancing the standards of care and promoting a holistic, inclusive approach to health and wellness.
Whether through therapy or education, I am committed to making a positive impact and advancing the conversation on mental health and inclusivity. If you’re interested in working together or learning more about my services, please feel free to reach out.
